Momma's rose is blooming... ONLY once this season, have I found myself to gather up enough strength to take in the BEAUTY & to soak in the fragrance of SWEETNESS! |

The multiple visits, daily to Momma's, throughout the summer months, was enchanted by the GRACEFULNESS of this one, particular rose! |

A rose that once greeted you at my Mother's drive... now is planted at an ole' wheat bin near the greenhouse here on the property! Oh, how I miss my PRECIOUS... Momma & the love she SO graciously offered through the wisdom she bestowed upon the lives of others! |

With a relocation to the farm... her garden's thrive today, with ALL the love within me! No, matter where I go... her garden will follow! THANK YOU, for sharing my morning of rose talk... ~ Sincerely... |

Pondering the thought of 'RULES'... you may say... why, YES... they are to life as air is to breathing! BUT, throughout life... often times than NOT, there have been those imaginary 'RULES' that filled my mind with what I thought was the gospel, you know... those 'RULES' that came from everyone else's view, opinions OR tradition! And, I JUST assumed... not wanting to create OR make a fuss... allowed THEIR 'RULES' to have an impact on how I lived my life OR reacted to certain circumstances! |

Well... with each passing year of '43', there has been learning curves, suffering pain & raw grief that has ALMOST destroyed everything that was used in my creation from God, my heart & soul! It's brought me to a point, a chapter... better yet... a season! A season, in which... would not have BLOSSOMED without the past years of what was JUST described, NOTHING I would hope upon my worst enemy (heaven forbid if I have any)! BUT, what the devil meant for harm, God brought forth good in order to bring about my current being! |

Therefore... I've claimed VICTORY over those so-called 'RULES' that kept me bound with restrictions & doubt for SO many years! |

There is & are GLORIFIED reason's for my life today... a life JUST not of existing, BUT, of a life worth living X 10! Not, ONLY did I share these words for me, BUT most importantly for someone else, whom may have OR may be there at this VERY moment... to believe & know, without a shadow of a doubt... YOU TOO ARE WORTH SAVING! God created YOU & I for greatness... it's up to YOU & I to claim that GREATNESS! He NEVER said the cross would be light... it carries weight, a weight worth carrying... throughout the season's of life! NOW, pick it up & GO forth to your GREATNESS, my friend! JUST in case your wondering... Why... I paired these photos up with this testimony... WELL... they are apart of my evolving... my life without the following of 'RULES' from others, from the past of pleasing others! I've been on the road since September 2014 now... following my heart & WHEREVER the road may lead! The opportunities have surpassed ANYTHING of my understanding & continues to bless my soul! My goal is for other's to see JESUS through what I have to offer along the path of road trips! The 1st day of June, dawned EARLY... here at the farm! There's SO much to be had within the next, few weeks with upcoming deadlines, project completions & a GRAND show in the fix. Of course... the farm duties are repeat actions, NO matter the moment, everyday chores that wait for no one! SO, I've been REALLY trying to capture those EARLY morning dew drops between my toes, as I tip through the grass to start the day! |

The 'ladies' find it quite welcoming for the EARLY morning greetings, from inside the coops, now! For the days past... consisted of them WELCOMING me outside the back gate to the porch, bickering frantically that I had forgotten them! Oh, how they ADORE me now... :) |

The mornings bring SUCH beauty as the stroll takes me toward the coops! The 'Annabelle' Hydrangea's... are scattered, tucked & nestled throughout the gardens! They are now, JUST a memory in sight... though, while giving way to other 'Hydrangea' varieties to make a show! |

As previously mentioned... I'm in complex preparation for one of the GRANDEST shows/pop-up fairs in the South! 'Beehind Thyme Farm & Garden' will be attending as a vendor, as well as being a guest speaker for both days there at the event! Be sure to mark your calendars for one, fabulous time of shopping, gathering idea's, eating & ENJOYING the talented hymns that will be offered! 'City Farmhouse Pop-Up Fair' June 19th & 20th |

Goodness... spring has came, and like that, it's ALMOST gone! Time TRULY moves at a distance, when the season's transcend, spilling into the next! We seem to search for that EXTRA moment to breathe, especially when the harvest is plentiful! |

Here at the farm... it's good, ole' STRAWBERRY season! With RHUBARB season fading out, BUT... just the right amount savored over to prepare, one MORE helping of... 'Granna's Strawberry~Rhubarb Up-Side Down Cake'! |

JUNE... on the farm, take's on a whole NEW freshness when it comes... 'STRAWBERRY' pickin' time! Especially in the kitchen... SPLASHES of red are tucked in & about, for that... Farm FRESH look! |

Throughout the harvesting days... here at the farmhouse, you will find... the FARM tables GLEAMING with luscious fruit! I'm ALWAYS thumbing the pages of vintage, cookbooks in search of that, one 'can't do without' recipe, BUT... my heart earnestly seems to turn back to those, worn & tattered, recipe cards from my childhood! |

One in particular has ALWAYS won the ribbon award among friends, family & neighbors! 'Granna's Strawberry~Rhubarb Upside-Down Cake' offers a combination of flavor! With the STRAWBERRIES bringing into play ALL the sweetness to taste, then scattering the bottom with tartness... results in a completion of SOUTHERN goodness! 'Granna's Strawberry~Rhubarb Upside-Down Cake' 'Granna's Strawberry Cake' 2 heaping cups FRESH strawberries (stemmed/washed... yielding 1 1/2 cup) 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 cups sugar 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup butter (lightly melted) 1/2 cup milk 2 eggs Preheat oven to 350... Stem, wash & hull strawberries, then quarter. Blend 1 1/2 cup of cake mixture into the strawberries! Add flour, sugar salt & baking soda in a mixing bowl, blend & stir together. Add milk, butter & the strawberry mixture, beat on medium, for one minute. Add eggs, beat on high for two minutes. Pour batter over the Rhubarb Topping... Bake for 45-50 minutes until cake is firm in the center. Remove from oven, cool for 5 minutes... after the 5 minutes, loosen cake from edges of pan & invert onto a platter! 'Rhubarb Topping' 3/4 cup butter (cubed) 1 1/2 cup light brown sugar 3 cups FRESH rhubarb (1/2" cubes) Add butter & brown sugar to saucepan, cook over medium heat until butter is melted, sugar has dissolved. Pour into a 13" X 9" baking pan. Sprinkle the rhubarb cubes, then set aside for batter! BEST served around room temperature, letting the juices from the strawberries & rhubarb saturate through! ENJOY... til the last bite! |
