The season for 'HOME'...

Glad tidings... my dear friends!
It's Monday... & we are actually THERE, the one day
of the year that we anticipate the most,
the birth of our Lord & Savior... Jesus Christ!

I truly hope that this finds you settled in & ready
for Christmas Day.  There is NO better feeling then knowing
all is well, to allow those precious moments to be
cherished with family & friends, to peacefully
sit by the fireside savoring the warmth of home
while singing old-time, Christmas carols!

Creating a HOME for your loved ones to gather is truly
an honor for me.  Just the small touches of wrapping your home
with coziness inside for everyone to feel that warm
WELCOME that comes from the heart!
As your going about in the kitchen, most definitely
the staple of the home... tie on an apron, GREET folks
with a smile & always have freshly, baked
goodes to offer!

The SIMPLENESS of home...

Another Sunday has dawned here at the farm &
I can't help, BUT to feel blessed, to be GLAD
that my surroundings are that of SIMPLENESS.
Just as you see at a glance... there is purpose in
the decor I have chosen for my home.  

My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
Psalms 104:34

Photos surely do tell a story as well as create a window
to a persons soul!  

Last evening... after a day spent pouring out my soul
to the sake of missing my dear, precious momma, I turned
to the kitchen, a place where 'Granna' spent the
majority of her days.  And without reflecting on what I was
gathering to prepare, I studied the ingredients & found...
it was 'Granna's' most favorite; a SIMPLE
chocolate cake with a powdered-sugar glaze.
And with that... I gave a
slight smile while peering up at the evening sky
from the kitchen window.

And as the cake was baking... a hot cup of
'Candy Cane' (a MUST to try ) Cocoa was being sipped on while
the winter wind howled outdoor.

Sweet SUMMER time has definitely
arrived here at the farm...
the gardens are in their BEST of show!

One garden chore for the month of July is a must;
gathering seeds from the many perennials, bi-annuals
& annuals that grace the gardens.
Gardeners are ALWAYS planning ahead, that's
part of the game of gardening, right!

HOLLYHOCKS are JUST one of those that are
forming dried, seed heads... & oh, how
valuable those little pods are!

So grab your apron, shears & a brimmed hat
& come along for a grande, ole' time
amongst the BEAUTY of God's creation!

Sweet Day... folks!

It's going to be a grande day here at the farm...
First & foremost... I will be readying the shop for reopening...
a LONG awaited event that has JUST now
came into focus.

Scrubbing & tiding up the front porch, so I can add
baskets & baskets of planted flowers, along with
oodles of rustic, garden wares.

I have to say... I'm TRULY delighted, for this
opportunity again... the pages of another
chapter have been turned
once again!

My Cup RUNNETH Over...

Days have been overwhelming, to say the least!

MUCH to tend to, orders to get out,
mouths to feed, plants to water, gardens to hoe...
I guess you would say...
my cup runneth over, in a pleasing way, I might add!
BUT, I've really... really tried to create
time for JUST sitting... & to ENJOY
what we have set forth to build!

Things may NOT be perfect... OR well tended too,
like the days of the past.  SOMEHOW, I have
slowly evolved OR graduated out of that DEEP
need... to, ummmm, let's say... 'JUMP' when I see
a duty OR chore that has been left undone.
I've latched onto the small moments that
come ONLY once, moments that may have
passed me by, otherwise.

Often times, I find it hard to express myself...
ALWAYS wanting to share my heart, soul & whole being
with whomever may be welling to listen...
 to shine a light, lift a hurting spirit OR
give someone HOPE that all will be WELL!

You see... I'm JUST a daughter, mother, wife,
farmgirl, gardener, entrepreneur that lives in the
Bluegrass State of Kentucky trying to
offer OR share the passion of
creating BEAUTY... to intensify the
SIMPLENESS of everyday living, to share
with 'YOU' that SUCCESS isn't all about money...
it's about FULL-FILLING the desire's of your inner soul! 

We can alter what SUCCESS is... to EACH individual!

TODAY... I have shared a TRUE me... a me that
wants to bring about a better atmosphere
among folks... 'YOU' can build your
own community within communities...

Offer a WARM handshake, a SMILE
OR a SWEET compliment...
'YOU' may be JUST what changes
the environment for a better world!

God knows my/our heart &

Saturday GREETINGS from the greenhouse...

Garden Greetings... my friends!!!
As you can see... my delightful, friend... 'Rosemary'
is ridin' in style here in the greenhouse!
And the 'SunPatiens' are putting on their
HAPPY face!
I can sense it's going to be a 'GRAND' day!

How does 'YOUR' garden grow???

'Summer Days' are definitely here at the farm...
the gardens are all AGLOW with vibrant colors; the bees
are making their way for daily feedings; butterflies
are fluttering about & I've happened upon
several of my dear friends the... prying mantis.
Oh, & JUST today while adding a few new plants
to one of my favorite gardens
I had a large, toad frog peek through the
creeping thyme as if to say... 'this is my home,
glad to meet you', he never moved
while I planted & tidied-up the area.
I hope to see him often as I stroll through!

AND... of course with SUMMER comes the heat...
lately here in Kentucky we have encountered hot & humid days.
The 'Ladies' have found comfort under the
umbrella affect that the tall, flower varieties offer,
such as... Rudbeckia's, Shasta Daisies, Daylilies &
the many grasses that are mingled in the gardens.

SO... what are YOU enjoying from YOUR garden today???
Is it a bloom, a piece of garden art, one of the many
beneficial insects OR just the time of calmness
& peace that is offered when visiting your oasis???

Creating... 'FRESHNESS'

'LIGHT & SUMMERY'... 'SIMPLE & CLEAN'... 'ALL THINGS WHITE'!

Hoping this finds each of you well & believing...

Lately as I've went about my business, 
trying to meet & greet my obligations with 
ease & happiness, I sometimes seem to fall 
behind on enthusiasm.

This morning as I was enjoying my coffee 
& pondering on today's duties, I suddenly had the desire to search out some
verses on 'Stewardship'...

 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily ,
as to the Lord, and not unto men.
Colossians 3:23


He has bestowed upon me few things
to care for & enjoy... so therefore,
I have the responsibility to do well with those things that have been given, after all... 'the earth is the Lord's and everything
in it'... He will make sure 'ALL' is well!


I'm looking to 'Him' for approval & NOT to man...
I know 'He' has gotten EVERYTHING covered!

SIMPLE moments...

Each NEW day goes WELL with FRESH bouquets...

Blooming Flowers... bring about a 'WELLNESS' to the soul,
whether they are flourishing in the garden, being gifted
to a friend OR as a few, simple stems tucked
into an old, 'Ball' jar...
there's NO preference to a PASSIONATE gardener that lives
with a garden growing in her HEART!

CUTTING gardens are a PASSION here at the farm...
NOT only do they provide a small portion of
income, BUT they offer EACH day
with a GOOD mood... BEAUTY... & a place of TRANQUILITY!

WHY wouldn't ANYONE not delight in the presence
of FLOWERS, is BEYOND my garden gate!

FLOWERS come with sentimental qualities as well...
such as the ROSE (above) was swiped from
'Granna's' little garden one evening
as I was walking home.
I choose to settled it into a small, ironstone
creamer which I remembered as a child being
apart of 'Granna's' collection... how appropriate! 

Another ray of SUNSHINE... on this COLD, COLD winter day!

'Annabelle' Hydrangea is a MUST for ANY garden!
It definitely pays for it's keep here at the farm...

AND... straight from my garden...
 the 'Wisteria' vine trailing atop a pergola,
weaving about to create a shelter area for
those evening dinners... all awhile
furnishing tables with an
abundance of homegrown GOODNESS!

Can you guess...
FRESH~CUT FLOWERS are an important staple
to my home & my soul!
